aFe Air Intake Systems (AIS) provide your vehicle the air it needs by replacing the restrictive factory intake system with a high flow conical air filter, and providing isolation from the hot engine air. aFe offers two types of Air Intake System kits:

Stage One kits replace the factory air box with a housing and conical filter. Typical install time is 15-45 minutes. You can expect improved throttle response and/or greater efficiency.

Stage Two kits replace the entire intake box, filter and tube.  By providing the fresh, cold air all the way to the turbo or throttle body, aFe’s Stage Two systems will boost engine performance by up to 50HP and 114 Ft. Lbs of torque. You can expect greatly improved throttle response, and/or greater efficiency. Typical install time is 60-90 minutes.

All AFE cold air induction kits are available in 3 types of filter media, Pro Dry S, Pro 5R (Standard), and Pro-Guard 7. Any AFE cold air induction kit can utilize another media type by simply purchasing another filter.

aFe High Performance Filter Media

Pro Dry S
(Progressive, Dry Media, Synthetic)  For off-road enthusiasts, sportsmen and the convenience minded.
Pro Dry S media offers outstanding airflow, superior cumulative filter efficiency and maximum convenience. Traditional paper filters restrict airflow, which inhibits engine performance. aFe's Pro Dry S OIL FREE filter media provides increased airflow at "near OE" filtration levels of 99.4%*.

Perhaps the greatest benefit of new Pro Dry S filters is the convenience of servicing these oil-free filters. Most oil based filter manufacturers suggest that filters be cleaned with special chemical solvents and restored with special oil. Pro Dry S filters have a service life of up to 50,000 miles in standard driving conditions. And cleaning can be as simple as lightly tapping it on the ground (for up to 85% of the original rate of flow). To return to nearly 100% of the original performance, you simply rinse your Pro Dry S filter in warm water and a common household detergent such as Simple Green. Chemical cleaning kits are not required to clean aFe's Pro Dry S air filters.

(Progressive Media, 5-Layers, Racing) For street rods, tuners and asphalt shredders (track/street only)
aFe's Pro5R Media offers the highest airflow while providing outstanding filtration (98.9% cumulative filter efficiency). With 5 layers of progressively finer medical grade cotton gauze sandwiched between two aluminum screens. This type of media will give you least amount of air restriction and lowest possible exhaust gas temperatures (EGT's). It is ideal for vehicles that only see highway driving, or for those who want to build the most horsepower.

Pro-Guard 7
(Progressive Media, Maximum Protection, 7 Layers)  For construction, agricultural and other high-dust environments
The Pro-Guard 7 filters by aFe are the only washable/reusable air filter that stops dirt as well as an OEM paper filter. This filter media is constructed of 5 layers of progressively finer medical grade cotton gauze and 2 layers of non-woven synthetic polyester fabric with a random porosity. These media layers are sandwiched between two layers of aluminum wire mesh and expanded metal which provides a lifetime structural skeleton for the filter and prevents collapse in high flowing diesel applications. The result is high performance airflow with filtration efficiency of a heavy-duty filter. This filtration media is so unique, it was granted US patent 6,811,588. When you use your vehicle in a severe duty or work application, it is important to give the engine a high level of protection from dirt and dust. With 7 layers of media, aFe's Pro-GUARD 7 is able to offer a level of protection to the engine that is unsurpassed by any washable/reusable filter available today. Even fine dust is effectively filtered out and kept from entering the engine. When the vehicle needs to make it through the long haul, Pro-GUARD 7 will offer the protection you need.
