Vacuum actuated
exhaust brake mounted on the turbo. This is the
original BD exhaust brake. The 3 inch vacuum
cylinder with progressive spring loaded piston
delivers 100 PSI of apply and release pressure. The
free flowing cast housing incorporated a stainless
steel butterfly, which pivots on their exclusive
AlumiBronze bushing to ensure that it does not stick
in the open or closed position. This casting simply
bolts in place of an existing exhaust elbow. It's
connected to the trucks vacuum system for control of
the valve. Equipped with a threaded port, you can
easily install a thermocouple for monitoring EGT's
(Exhaust Gas Temperature). For peak retarding power
on the 12-valve engine Heavy Duty exhaust springs
are required (see below).
