OVERVIEW
Designed for the
1998-2007 Dodge Cummins 5.9L 24 Valve, the BD Low Fuel Pressure
Alarm Kit alerts the driver when fuel pressure to the injection
pump drops below 5PSI. The 24 Valve Cummins is notorious
for failing lift pumps causing the VP44 Injection pump to starve
for fuel. This low fuel pressure causes lack of power and
usually results in costly damage to the VP44 Injection pump,
thereby requiring replacement.
The Low Fuel
Pressure Alarm LED Kit will alert you when fuel pressure from
your lift pump (or aftermarket pusher pump) is not operating
correctly. This low fuel pressure can also be an
indication of a plugged fuel filter. This early warning
allows you to correct the problem before you are stuck with
costly repair bills!!! High Performance applications also
benefit, as they demand more fuel.
Reasons for Low Fuel Supply Pressure:
- Plugged Fuel Filter
- Plugged fuel tank pickup
- Weak or dead factory lift
pump
- Too much demand and not
enough supply (High horsepower applications)
NOTE: In-tank mounted fuel
pumps have been known to deliver less than 5 PSI of fuel
pressure during high demand situations (full throttle).
This product is not recommended for those applications
unless an aftermarket fuel pump has been installed to
deliver more consistent fuel pressure.
