Gauge Installation on a 6.6L Duramax

Drill and Tap size are the same as for the thermocouple, 1/8"NPT.  Start with a small pilot hole and work your way up to a size "R" drill bit (0.339") increasing 1 drill bit size at a time. This will cause all shavings to be small and dust-like. There is no need to coat your drill bits with grease or lube.  Once you are done drilling tap the hole with a 1/8"NPT pipe tap.  Periodically test fit your fitting to make sure that you are not tapping it too deep.

On this 2006 LBZ you can see the boost gauge tubing is routed to a 90° Compression tube fitting. (included with our ISSPRO gauge kit).  This is not required but does make routing the tubing look cleaner.
