The Vulcan Performance Fuel
Pressure Test Kit is a vital instrument in correctly diagnosing
low fuel pressure on your 1998.5-2002 Cummins. The Cummins
is known for lift pump failures and this test kit will help you
identify if your lift pump is failing or if your aftermarket
fuel pressure gauge is reading inaccurately.
The tester has a 2-1/2" large print, easy
to read gauge in a stainless steel housing. The gauge is
glycerin filled and has a 0-30 PSI range. It comes attached to
six feet of bio-compatible fuel hose, a needle valve for a no
mess disconnect, and a 90 degree end connected to a gasketed
swivel actuator for connecting to the Cummins schraeder valve.
The knurled thumb screw on it's schraeder connector makes
connecting and disconnecting a snap. It may be used with the
1998.5 to 2002 Cummins or any other Cummins with a schraeder or
1/8"NPT port. Included with the tester is an adapter
(not shown) with 1/8"NPT male threads. For newer Dodge Cummins engines the addition
of a tapped banjo bolt and adapter fitting is required.
This test kit was designed for testing purposes only and is not
intended for continuous use. If you need an in-the-cab
fuel pressure gauge please see our selection of fuel pressure
gauges
here, or contact your DMI sales associate for more
information and recommendations for your particular application.
